Jackfish Sign Lefty Chris Boatto

WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Chris Boatto for the 2019 season.

Boatto, a 24 year-old from Maple, ON, is entering his third Intercounty season. Boatto made nine appearances last season with the Burlington Herd including seven starts where he went 1-4 with forty-one strikeouts and sixteen walks.

“Chris is a hard throwing lefty that competes night in and night out” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay. “Chris has a strong dependable arm that is effective whether he is starting or in relief, we are very excited to have him again this season.”

The 6'0", 180 pound lefty pitched for Alderson Broaddus University where he recorded a three season total 4.01 ERA with 110 strikeouts and a record of 13-7.
