Jackfish Sign Dadson for 2019
WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the signing of infielder Brendon Dadson for the 2019 season.
Dadson, a 6’3 Bowmanville, ON native joins the Jackfish after a successful college career with the Durham College Lords. The big hitting, big bodied Dadson will be a welcome addition to the Jackfish lineup. In 2018 with the Lords, Dadson recorded 15 hits, 16 walks, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 14 runs, 9 RBI, and a .457 OBP.
“I’m super excited to sign with the Jackfish, they have put together a group of people from management to the players that are hungry for a successful first season” said Dadson. “I’m ready to go out every game and compete my hardest and I know the other guys on the team will do the same; hard work beats skill when skill doesn’t work hard.”
For his efforts in 2018 Dadson was was honoured as an OCAA all-star. The third-year shortstop delivered for Durham at the plate. Leading the team with 14 runs scored, Dadson excelled at the top of the order, drawing an OCAA high 16 walks. This on base success placed him eighth in the OCAA with a .457 on base percentage this season.
“Brendon is a big strong athletic body with a big bat that can play either corner” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay. “We are excited to see what Brendan can do at the next level.”
