Jackfish Sign Alberta Native Dane Tofteland for 2021 Season

WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, today announced they have signed outfielder Dane Tofteland for the 2021 season.

The 6-foot-4, Grande Prairie, Alberta native, joins the Jackfish following suiting up for the Indiana State Sycamores in 2019. During his last season with the Sycamores, Dane recorded three doubles, five home runs, and eighteen RBI.

“Dane is a big athletic player that is equally comfortable at first or in the outfield,” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay. “Giving the coaching staff another middle line-up bat with power to put forth our best line-up on any given night was the goal.”

Over his four years at Indiana State University, Dane recorded a .237 average with 15 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs, and 60 RBI.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League.
