Jackfish score in 10th to edge Panthers

KITCHENER -- Welland scored a run in the top of the 10th to edge the Kitchener Panthers 5-4 Sunday afternoon at Jack Couch Park.
Dane Tofteland went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI for the Jackfish. His sacrifice fly in the 10th scored Brandon Nicholson for the winning run. Nicholson scored twice, while Cole Warken singled and added a solo home run.
Jake Harford (3-0) picked up the win with two scoreless, one-hit innings of relief. He walked two and struck out two. Chris Boatto started and went eight innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Andy Leader went deep twice for the Panthers, picking up three RBI and two runs.
Jorden Carthy (0-1) took the loss, allowing an unearned run in an inning of relief. Adam Robertson started and went 5.2 innings, giving up four runs on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
