Jackfish score 10 straight to finish off Majors

WELLAND -- Welland scored 10 straight runs on its way to a 12-5 win over the visiting London Majors Thursday night. 

Trailing 5-2 in the sixth, the Jackfish took the lead with four runs in the inning before adding five in the seventh and one in the eighth. 

Brendon Dadson went 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and three runs. Cole Warken also went deep and drove in three, Griffin Keller drove in two of his three runs with a triple in the sixth, Dane Tofteland singled and scored twice and had an RBI, Brandon Nicholson scored three times, and Matt Hilderbrandt added an RBI.

On the mound, Will Jackman (2-2) picked up the win, striking out seven over 4.2 innings of scoreless, three-hit relief. Welland starter Brett Lawson gave up five runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five and didn't issue a walk. 

Majors pitcher Nick Carrell (0-1) was pulled with one out in the sixth after giving up six runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts. 

Cleveland Brownlee homered and drove in two, while Hayden Jaco also went deep with a solo blast. 

Carlos Arteaga had two hits and a run, Adam Filmon singled twice, and Austin Wilkie went 3-for-3 with an RBI. 

Welland improved to 9-9, and London dropped to 11-4.
