Jackfish reaches 30 wins

GUELPH – Welland became the first team to 30 wins this season after a 7-5 Tuesday night victory in Guelph.

Jonah Weisner doubled and added a solo home run for the Jackfish (30-10), who already clinched the league’s top playoff seed. Jake Sanford went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs. Steven Moretto drove in two, and Gianfranco Morello and Dawson Tweet had an RBI apiece.

Brandon Underhill (7-1) went 5.1 innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Deivy Mendez tossed a scoreless ninth for his 11^th save.  

Conner Morro led the Royals with his first home run of the season and three RBI. Ashton Patterson drove in a run on two hits, while Evan Ashe picked up an RBI.

Ethan Hammond and Frankin Torres added two hits apiece.

Guelph dropped to 22-16.
