Jackfish hold on to third place

WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish built up a 9-0 lead before the Kitchener Panthers got on the scoreboard in 10-3 Jackfish win at Welland Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Brandon Dadson went 4-for-5 with an RBI while Brendan Nicholson was 3-for-4 with two RBI’s to lead Welland at the plate. Colin Feuerstake was 2-for-3 with three runs and Bryce O’Farrell was 2-for-5 with a run.

Matthew Clingersmith (4-1) went seven strong innings, allowing only three hits and two runs while walking two and striking out four.

For Kitchener, Andy Leader went 2-for-4. Christian Hauck (2-1) started and lasted only two innings, giving up nine hits, nine runs with two walks and one strikeout.

Kitchener (13-3) is now in second place.
