Jackfish Announce New Radio Partnership with CTKB 610

WELLAND. – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, and CKTB announced a partnership today that makes Newstalk, 610 AM the official home for Jackfish Baseball. The agreement was announced during Saturday, March 6th episode of the Niagara Sports Report with Rod Mawhood.

610 CTKB will broadcast 18 Welland Jackfish games for the 2021 season. CKTB boasts a 10,000-watt signal that reaches listeners over large portions of Niagara Region, Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. All games can also be heard online at 610cktb.com.

"This new partnership expands the reach of Welland Jackfish baseball within the region," said Jackfish President Ryan Harrison. "We look forward to working with a distinguished institution like CKTB 610 to bring Welland Jackfish games to even more fans over the airwaves."

They became an immediate success with fans in Welland after their arrival in 2019 and with Elliott Price on-board doing play-by-play, we can't wait for the rest of the Region to hear them" said Tom McConnell, CKTB Assistant Programming Director.

The Jackfish broadcast team for 2021 will consist of veteran broadcaster Elliot Price. Price, who has spent 40 years in sports broadcasting with 13 years of Major League Baseball play-by-play experience starting with the Montreal Expos will call the balls and strikes for the 2021 season.

Elliot will join the Jackfish broadcast team with Spencer Tanguay who will remain as the voice of the Jackfish on Jackfish TV.

Known as the Voice of Niagara, last year CKTB celebrated its 90th year as a broadcaster. The home of local news and talk programming, along with regular traffic, weather, and sports updates, CKTB is heard throughout the Niagara Region and across Southern Ontario and Western New York.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
