Intercounty Baseball League announces All-IBL teams

After winning the Intercounty Baseball League title, Welland led the league with six players named to the All-IBL teams, which were announced on Wednesday.

Four were named to the First Team, led by catcher and playoff MVP Robert Mullen, who was an all-star in 2024 and 2022. Shortstop Jonah Weisner, designated hitter Greyson Barrett, and outfielder Mateo Porcellato, an all-star last season, were also on the First Team. In contrast, Jackfish second baseman Brendan Luther and right-handed pitcher Teodoro Ortega made the Second Team All-IBL.

Barrie, which lost in the final, had four All-IBL selections as voted on by league coaches and management in each of its nine member cities. Left-handed Baycats’ pitcher Frank Garces was named an all-star for a third straight season and fourth time in his career.

Toronto first baseman Jordan Castaldo made the First Team for his 12th all-star honour dating back to 2009 when he played for Oshawa.

Hamilton’s Owen Boon, the league’s Most Valuable Player in 2025, was named First Team right-handed pitcher and earned his third all-star nod.
