IBL playoffs get underway Thursday
The Intercounty Baseball League playoffs get underway this week as Barrie chases a second straight Dominico Cup.
After a slow start, the Baycats climbed the standings all summer and secured second place on the last day of the regular season with a win over London. Barrie will get Toronto in the first round.,
Welland, which won the 2023 title, became the first IBL team to hit the 30-win milestone for a fourth straight season on its way to a third consecutive pennant. The Jackfish faces Kitchener to start the postseason.
Third-place London, which hovered near the top of the standings all season, gets Guelph in the opening round, and fourth-place Chatham-Kent takes on Hamilton.
