IBL Mourns the Loss of Jamie Corke

The Intercounty Baseball League family is deeply saddened by the loss of former Brantford Red Sox player and IBL umpire Jamie Corke who passed away yesterday.

Named to the top 100 IBL players list last season, Jamie recorded many IBL awards over his career. Named the 1975 Rookie of the Year, he was a five time IBL all-star along with claiming the leagues batting championship twice. He was named the postseason MVP in 1981 before retiring from playing and joining the Red Sox as the clubs manager during the 1983 and 1984 season.

A well respected player and manager, Jamie also turned his talents towards umpiring for many years.

Funeral arrangements will be posted as they become available.
