IBL announces semifinal schedules

The semifinals are set.  

After an off-day Thursday, the IBL playoffs resume Friday when Barrie hosts Hamilton. The defending champion Baycats are coming off a 5-4 win over Toronto on Wednesday in Game 5 of their first-round series. 

Welland, meanwhile, resumes its postseason run on Saturday at home against Guelph. The No. 1 seed Jackfish swept Kitchener in the first round, while Guelph, which finished sixth in the regular season, eliminated No. 3 London in its quarter-final.  

Both semifinals are a best-of-five. The championship is a best-of-seven.  

SERIES E – WELLAND (1) VS. GUELPH (6) 

Game 1: Saturday, Aug. 30 at Welland, 6:05 p.m. 

Game 2; Sunday, Aug. 31 at Guelph, 4:05 p.m. 

Game 3: Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Welland, 7:15 p.m.
