IBL Announces HRD Bat Co. Players of the Week May 19–25
The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) is proud to announce the HRD Bat Co. Players of the Week for May 19–25.
Player of the Week – Toby Simmons (London Majors)
London centerfielder Toby Simmons delivered a standout week at the plate to help the Majors remain unbeaten at 5–0.
Simmons, a Bahamas native, went 5-for-9 (.556) with 2 doubles and 1 RBI, continuing his impressive start to the 2025 season. He’s now batting .571 (12-for-21) with 3 doubles, a triple, a home run, and 7 RBI.

• Spencer Marcus (Chatham-Kent): 4-for-10, 2 doubles, 4 RBIs
• JD Williams (Guelph Royals): 5-for-9, 1 double, 3 RBIs (.556 AVG)
Pitcher of the Week – Mizuki Akatsuka (Chatham-Kent Barnstormers)
Japanese Switch pitcher Mizuki Akatsuka earns HRD Pitcher of the Week honors for his dominant May 24 start against Brantford. Akatsuka threw 7.0 innings, allowing just 1 earned run on 7 hits, with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.
