HRD Players of the Week

The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced its HRD Bat Co Players of the Week. Here are the results from the week of July 16th to July 22nd and July 23rd to July 29th.

July 16th to July 22nd

Raul Gonzalez of the Kitchener Panthers batted .800 last week (8 for 10) with 1 home run, 3 runs scored, and 8 RBIs. Gonzalez is batting a .319 average this season with 9 HR and 37 RBI’s. 

Takaki Eguchi pitched 9 innings in Hamilton’s winning game against the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers. The IBL rookie racked up an impressive 10 strikeouts during his 9 innings on the mound. 

July 23rd to July 29th

Dawson Tweet of the Welland Jackfish batted .600 last week with 2 home runs and 5 runs scored leading Welland to a 3-0 record. Tweet is batting a .321 average this season with 3 HR and 15 RBI’s. 

Jeremias Sucre pitched 9 innings in Brantford Red Sox’s shutout win against the Hamilton Cardinals (5-0). Sucre has played in 10 games this season and was the starting pitcher for 9 of them.
