Hamilton signs former Manitoba Baseball Player of the Year - Connor Cory

The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher and former Manitoba Baseball Player of the Year, Connor Cory.

Standing at 6'1" and weighing 200 pounds, Cory hails from Wawanesa, Manitoba, and is a Senior at Mayville State University in the NAIA. Cory has pitched 134 innings to-date over four years, striking out 113 batters and earning the title of 2022 NSAA First Team All-Conference relief pitcher.

“We were looking for a bullpen arm that’s passionate about growing into a bigger role,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “Connor’s very bright, is living up to deep baseball bloodlines in Manitoba, and carries a perspective on pitching that I want to learn from.”

Cory brings a winning pedigree, having been part of the Mayville State University team that clinched the North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament, as well as the Manitoba 21U team that emerged as Baseball Canada's National Champions. Before his stint at Mayville State, Cory played for the Altona Bison, where he was recognized as an all-star and awarded the title of top pitcher of the Manitoba Junior Baseball League.

Cory has the versatility to slot into either the rotation or a bullpen role with the Cardinals. Adding further depth to the team.

The Cardinals first home game is on Friday May 17th at 7:30pm against the Guelph Royals. Tickets are now available at CardinalsTickets.ca and the game will be available live on Cable14Now.com.
