Hamilton's Gonzalez returns for 2019

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the return of RHP Zack Gonzalez (Miami). Zack joined the Cardinals last season after a terrific 2017 in the Peco's League. In his first year in the IBL, Zack pitched in 15 games throwing 71.1 Innings. He had 58 strikeouts compared to only 23 walks and a 5-5 record and ERA of 3.78

"We are extremely excited to have Zack back, I think it is important to the franchise and growth of the team that we bring back our imports that had great seasons, that are good in the community and are good in our locker room, instead of trying to hit lightening in a bottle every year. We wish to build a strong nucleolus and have guys who want to be in Hamilton." stated GM Jeff Lounsbury

Upon signing to return Zack said " I'm happy to be back with Hamilton. I remember showing up on opening day, and we ended up winning the game. To me it was another win, but to the guys around me it meant something more. The imports showed up not knowing the history, and subconsciously the guys in the locker room started buying into winning and the way the year ended up shows that. We have a good core so I'm excited to pick up where we left off and be the team to watch."

The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario’s most elite baseball league, The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
