Guelph Royals Announce Field Manager for 2019 Season

Guelph – The Guelph Royals announced today that Dave teBoekhorst will return as Field Manager for the 2019 Season. teBoekhorst returned to Guelph to lead a revamped Royals team in 2018 – winning more games than the team won in the previous three seasons combined.

Last season, the Royals won 16 regular season games and 2 playoffs games. Coach “Tebo” returns for the 2019 season with high hopes for the Royals, ““Obviously I wanted a deeper playoff run last season, but after reflecting on the season we had, I realized how great it was to coach in my hometown with this Class-A organization. It was exciting to see the fans come back to Hastings Stadium.”

A former player, TeBoekhorst was a catcher for the Royals from 1998 to 2005 and was named an all-star three times. He won the IBL championship in 2003 and 2004 and was named Manager of the Year in 2012.

Also signing on for the 2019 season is Sean Reilly and Lou Embro. Sean Reilly, the league’s all- time leader in hits, home runs, and RBI assumes the role of Assistant GM. Lou Embro, a familiar face around the park, formally joins the team as Manager of Game Day Operations.

The Guelph Royals will take to the field at Hastings Stadium in May 2019. Season tickets go on sale November 15th. To purchase visit www.guelphroyals.com.
