Froese powers Majors past Cards

LONDON – Steve Froese had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the London Majors to a 6-1 win over the Hamilton Cardinals Sunday afternoon at Labatt Park.

Larry Balkwill hit a solo home run – his first longball of the season – Yuli Yasuda went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Myles Miller drove in a run.

London starter Migel Burgos (4-3) struck out 11 over seven shutout innings to earn the win. He walked five and allowed five hits.

Luke Tevlin had three of Hamilton's six hits,and Connor Patterson drove in the lone run.

Ben Braun took the loss, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings. He walked three and struck out four.

London improved to 13-12, and Hamilton dropped to 10-12.
