Former London Major Coach Patrick Casey Joins Cardinals Staff
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce that Patrick Casey will be added to this year's coaching staff.
Patrick was the 3rd base coach with the London Majors for the last two seasons. He played 7 seasons in the Intercounty League with the St. Thomas Elgins.
Patrick brings to the Cardinals 20 plus years of coaching experience and his love of sports and getting involved in the community has led him to attaining National certification as a coach in hockey, lacrosse and football. This has led to a wide array of coaching experiences over the years ranging from two World Fastball Championships(St. Thomas Centennials) in 2009 and 2010 to four seasons as a RB/WR coach with the Burlington Braves of the Canadian Junior Football League.
" We got lucky that Patrick was available and that his family recently moved to Smithville. We really feel with Patrick joining pitching coach Matt Betts and last year's returning assistant coach Andy St. Denis that head coach Dean Castelli has the right mix and experience to really help our team improve. It's been years since Dean has had this kind of help." said GM Jeff Lounsbury
"I couldn’t be more excited to be to be joining the Cardinals organization for the upcoming season and working with Dean Castelli and his staff. I look forward to building upon what the Cardinals accomplished in 2018. I can't wait to meet everyone and with all of the great additions that GM Jeff Lounsbury has added to what was already a solid core of players returning from last year, it looks like we will have an opportunity to compete for a championship and to make Cardinal fans proud" stated Casey.
The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario's most elite baseball league. The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
