De Oleo leads Majors in Hamilton
HAMILTON – Eduardo De Oleo went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in London’s 7-3 win Sunday in Hamilton.
Toby Simmons had two hits and two RBI, one of which came in the Majors’ four-run eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Raphael Pelletier, Ken Sugi and Josh Niles also drove in a run in the inning.
London starting pitcher Victor Payano (6-3) went seven innings to pick up the win. He allowed three runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
London improved to 23-17 and is tied with Barrie for second place.
Tyler Duncan hit a three-run blast for Hamilton (19-19) in the sixth. Carlos Dominguez had two hits and scored.
Steven Hospital (1-2) was saddled with the loss after giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits with two strikeouts in an inning. Logan Warkentin started and gave up a run on three hits in four innings. He walked three and fanned four.
