De Los Santos dominates in Red Sox win
BRANTFORD – Pedro De Los Santos dominated in his first start of the season, allowing a run on four hits in Brantford’s 8-1 win over Guelph on Sunday afternoon at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
De Los Santos walked two and struck out eight one week after throwing four scoreless innings in relief.
Offensively, Nick Burdett drove in two runs for the Red Sox (1-2). Ethan Paulos had two hits and an RBI, and Lucas Bateman, Noah Roberts and Tim Holyk all drove in a run.
Brantford needed only six hits and took advantage of five Royals’ errors.
Jacob Kush (0-1) took the loss for Guelph. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts over four innings.
Garrett Takamatsu drove in the Royals’ lone run in the fourth inning. He cashed J.D. Williams, who singled and stole a base.
Guelph dropped to 0-2.
