De Los Santos dominates as Majors spoil Panthers' return

LONDON -- Pedro De Los Santos welcomed Kitchener to the 2021 IBL season by going eight shutout innings in London's 5-0 win Saturday night at Labatt Park.

The Majors' lefty scattered three hits, walking four and striking out seven to win his second start of the season. It also happened to be the Panthers' first game, as COVID-19 restrictions in Waterloo Region delayed the team's return.

Cleveland Brownlee's two-run blast led London's offence. Evan Britt, Hayden Jaco and Adam Filmon drove in the Majors' other runs. Byron Reichstein went 2-for-3 with two runs.

London improved to 4-0.

Elliott Curtis had two of Kitchener's three hits. Ethan Baptie had the other.

Adam Robertson (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in two innings of relief. He walked one without registering a strikeout. Christian Hauck started and went four scoreless innings, giving up two hits while walking one and striking out a pair.
