Custodio does it all in win over Leafs

GUELPH – Claudio Custodio struck out 11 over seven innings to lead the Guelph Royals to a 4-1 win Tuesday night at David E. Hastings Stadium. 

Custodio (5-0) scattered five hits and walked one while allowing an unearned run. Brandon Deans struck out one over two scoreless innings to earn the save.

Sean Reilly went 2-for-3 with a solo home run for the Royals (11-7). Justin Interisano also picked up two hits and scored, Ethan Hammond drove in a run and Conner Morro had a pair of hits.

Zach Sloan (3-2) tasted defeat after giving up two runs on four hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out seven.

Greg Carrington had one of six Toronto hits and scored the team’s lone run, which came in the bottom of the fifth. The Leafs fell to 11-8.
