Curtis homers, drives in two in Panthers' win
WELLAND -- Elliott Curtis went deep and drove in two as the Kitchener Panthers doubled Welland 6-3 Thursday night on the road.
Kitchener's Adam Leader and Lucas Diluca each had three hits, and they combined to score three times. Liam Wilson and Jett Jarvis had two hits and an RBI apiece, while Nick Parsons and Carter Arbuthnot drove in the other runs.
Christian Hauck (1-0) allowed two runs on nine hits over seven innings. He struck out four without issuing a walk. Stephen Gade picked up his first save after allowing a run on two hits with three walks and a strikeout.
For Welland (2-4), starting pitcher Chris Boatto (2-1) went seven innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
Griffin Keller singled, homered and drove in a run, Brendon Dadson singled twice and scored, Cole Warken went 3-for-4, Cole Cote singled twice and scored, and Matt Hilderbrandt drove in a run.
