Collymore erupts in Royals’ blowout win
KITCHENER – Malik Collymore went 5-for-5 with two home runs and eight RBI to lead the Guelph Royals to a 23-3 win Thursday night at Jack Couch Park in Kitchener.
Collymore added a double and two singles and finished a triple short of the cycle. Ethan Hammond went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI, Brendan Keys hit a solo home run, Conner Morro homered and scored five times, Sean Reilly had three hits, two RBI and scored three times, Dalton Pompey went 3-for-6 with four runs, Brando Leroux drove in a pair of runs on two hits, Darius Barlas had an RBI and J.D. Williams had two hits and drove in a run.
Emilis Guerrero (5-2) picked up the win, allowing three runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out two and didn’t issue a walk.
Andy Leader drove in two of the Panthers’ runs, while Kenny Di Clemente had the other RBI on one of three hits. Liam Wilson went 2-for-3 with a run.
Nik Cardinal (0-1) took the loss, yielding nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits in 3.1 innings. He walked two and struck out one.
Guelph is now 14-8, and Kitchener is 8-14.
