Cicatello and Rizquez Named IBL Players of the Week
CAMBRIDGE – The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced its Players of the Week for the week of May 5-12.
Toronto Maple Leafs' righty Justin Cicatello was named Pitcher of the Week. The veteran from Amherst, N.Y., had an ERA of 3.00 in two games, including a four-inning save May 12 in Toronto's win over Hamilton. With the Leafs shorthanded, Cicatello also had to hit, and he connected for a solo home run in his only at bat. It was the 35 year old's first career hit.
Brantford's Andris Rizquez was named Hitter of the Week after going 3-for-6 in the Red Sox's season-opening win over Toronto. Rizquez fell a triple short of the cycle while scoring twice and adding a stolen base.
