Cards win third straight

TORONTO – After a 14-game losing streak, the Hamilton Cardinals have won three straight following Sunday’s 5-2 win over Toronto at Christie Pits.
Luis Jean and Laine Renaud each had two hits and an RBI for the Cards (9-26). Tristan Osika drove in the other run.
Sam Turcotte (1-5) picked up the win in relief. He was charged with two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk in two innings. Jose Fernandez struck out five of six batters he faced over two innings for his first save.
Sam Greene (1-2) took the loss for the Leafs (21-15). He allowed three runs on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
