Cards snap losing streak with win in Toronto

TORONTO -- The Hamilton Cardinals snapped a three-game losing skid with an 11-7 win Sunday afternoon in Toronto. 

Chris Procopio had two hits, including his first home run of the season, and two RBI in the win. Laine Renaud and Clay Miller each had two hits and drove in a pair of runs, Justin Gideon went 3-for-5 and scored twice, Ryan Burnside had a pair of hits and drove in three, Jeremie Veilleux went 2-for-4 and scored twice, and Matt Lonetto picked up a pair of singles and an RBI. 

Julian Tymochko (1-0) earned the win, allowing a run on two hits over seven innings. He walked three and struck out one. 

Leafs starter Andrew Hyde (0-3) took the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits over five innings. He walked three and fanned four. 

Offensively, Jordan Castaldo and Chandler McLaren each homered and drove in three. Connor Lewis added an RBI, and Damon Topolie plated a pair of runs. 

Fifth-place Hamilton improved to 11-15, and fourth-place Toronto dropped to 12-13.
