As the Intercounty Baseball League gears up for the Home Run Derby and All-Star Showdown this Sunday in Hamilton, the league is proud to announce its Week 9 HRD Bat Co. Players of the Week.

Player of the Week: Tyler Duncan – Hamilton Cardinals
Tyler Duncan powered the Cardinals to a perfect 4-0 week with a dominant performance at the plate. The B.C. native hit .500 (9-for-18) with 3 home runs and 7 RBI, highlighted by a rare cycle in Saturday’s win over Chatham-Kent.

• Tucker Zdunich (London): .500 (6-for-12), 3 RBI

Pitcher of the Week: Owen Boon – Hamilton Cardinals
History was made Thursday night in Kitchener, as Owen Boon threw the IBL’s first nine-inning no-hitter since June 16, 1977, leading Hamilton to an 18-0 victory over the Panthers. Boon earns his third Pitcher of the Week honour this season—and second in as many weeks.
