Cardinals Add Right Handed Pitcher To Roster
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Daury Torrez (Esperanza, Dominican Republic).
Daury spent 8 years in the Chicago Cubs organization making it to AAA in 2018. In his 8 year minor league career Torrez pitched in 208 games, making 68 starts and pitched 656.1 Innings. He had a 44-31 record with a 2.99 ERA with 6 saves. Torrez has had 469 strikeouts and only 111 walks.
“ We are so happy to have Daury here in Hamilton this summer. He is a strike-throwing machine and has a low 90’s fastball with a fantastic slider. In speaking with him about coming to Hamilton, I have been very surprised on how much responsibility he has already taken on and how excited he is to take on this new challenge. He is very mature and respectful.
Daury seems like one of those pitchers, who was on the cusp of the major leagues, but just did not get that opportunity. Chicago Cubs: The curious prospect case of Daury Torrez (cubbiescrib.com)
