Canice Ejo returns to Barrie for 2024 season

BARRIE – The Barrie Baycats are pleased to announce the return of 2023 IBL Second Team All-Star Canice Ejoh. The 27-year-old told Baycats General Manager Josh Matlow Monday morning that he would be coming back to Barrie for the 2024 season.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Canice back,” said Matlow. “He represents everything we embody as an organization. He is a huge piece to our puzzle!”

Ejoh batted .270 during the regular season with a Baycats single season record 26 stolen bases and scored 40 runs. He would go on to hit a few clutch home runs in the playoffs including a grand slam in Kitchener to send Barrie to the finals where he would connect on a go-ahead home run in game one.

The home opener for the Barrie Baycats is May 16th against the Toronto Maple Leafs. First pitch is set for 7:35 p.m. at Vintage Throne Stadium. Get your tickets HERE!
