Braun goes eight scoreless in Cards' win

HAMILTON – Ben Braun went eight shutout innings as the Hamilton Cardinals blanked the Guelph Royals 10-0 Saturday afternoon at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.

Hamilton leads the best-of-seven quarter-final 3-0. 

Braun scattered five hits while walking two and striking out three. 

At the plate, Grant Arnold homered and drove in two while scoring twice, Laine Renaud singled and hit a solo home run, Connor Bowie went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run, Chris Beer singled twice and doubled and scored three times, Luke Tevlin had two hits and a run, Connor Patterson had an RBI, and Jon Dziomba drove in two and scored twice. 

Justin Interisano had two of Guelph's four hits. Brett Lawson took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on 10 hits over 2.2 innings. He struck out two.
