Brantford Red Sox Sign Jon Dziomba

BRANTFORD - The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are proud to announce the signing of Jon Dziomba for the 2020 season.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Jon had played in the IBL for the past three seasons with the Hamilton Cardinals. Jon brings some added pop to the Sox offence, with a .348 career IBL batting average. Last season in 26 games played Jon had 34 hits, 2 home runs and 11 stolen bases. 

Jon graduated from Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, and played 9 seasons of independent pro ball across North America with stops in the Atlantic League, American Association, Can-Am League and North American/United Leagues. He won the 2013 United League Batting Title and was named to Baseball Americas Top 25 Independent Prospect List.

Brantford Red Sox Field Manager Matt McGovern notes that "when you're able to add a .350 career hitter like Jon it's a huge plus for the team".  McGovern added that Jon's experience will be a big asset to the organization, "he's seen it all and performed at every level".
