Brantford Red Sox Sign Gonzalez Germen

BRANTFORD, ON - The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are proud to announce the signing of Gonzalez Germen for the 2022 season.

Gonzalez is a 34-year-old right-handed pitcher from the Dominican Republic. He previously played in Major League Baseball for the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, and Colorado Rockies.

Gonzalez made his MLB debut with the Mets on July 12, 2013. He recorded his first MLB save on August 16, 2013 against the Padres. Gonzalez finished his rookie season with a 3.93 ERA over 34 innings pitched, striking out with 33.

Over 4 MLB seasons with the Mets, Cubs, and Rockies Gonzalez posted a 4.63 ERA over 144 innings pitched, striking out 129. Since his MLB career, Gonzalez has also played in Japan and Mexico.
