Baycats walk off Majors

BARRIE – Alex Wickett’s single in the bottom of the 10th scored Tristan Clarke to give Barrie a 6-5 win over London on Saturday at Athletic Kulture Stadium.  

Clarke was busy throughout the game, starting with an RBI single in the first inning. He added a sacrifice fly in the third and a two-run home run to tie the game in the seventh. 

Noah Hull hit a solo home run for Barrie (13-9), winners of six straight. Nolan Machibroda went 2-for-4, and Noel McGarry Doyle had three hits.  

Carlos Sano (3-0) worked around a hit and a walk in the 10th to earn the win in relief. Frank Garces started for the Baycats and went seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits with two walks and nine punchouts. 

Eduardo De Oleo went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and two-run home run for the Majors (14-9). Champ Garner and Adrian Harrison each drove in a run, Brad Verhoeven had two hits, and Francisco Fajardo went 3-for-4 with a run and stolen base.  

Ryan Beitel (0-1) took the loss after giving up a run on one hit over 2.2 innings. He walked one and struck out two. Travis Keys went the first six innings and allowed three runs on nine hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
