Baycats take stranglehold on Majors
LONDON – Barrie is one win from its second straight playoff series sweep.
Ryan Rijo and Nolan Machibroda both hit solo home runs in the Baycats’ 8-6 win Sunday in London. Barrie leads the best-of-five semifinal 2-0 and can advance to the final with a victory on Monday.
Adam Odd delivered a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning to give Barrie a 6-0 lead. Brandon Hernandez, Royce Ando and Tyler Plumpton all had two hits and an RBI. Hayden Jaco singled twice and scored.
Cesar Rosado (2-0) struck out 11 over seven innings. He allowed three runs on six hits.
Kaiden Cardoso went 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Majors. Gibson Krzeminski singled twice and scored twice.
Victor Payano (2-1) was charged with six runs on 11 hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out seven.
