Baycats sweep Red Sox

BRANTFORD – The Barrie Baycats completed a four-game sweep of the Brantford Red Sox with a 6-0 win Tuesday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Barrie needs eight more wins to clinch its sixth straight IBL title. 

Baycats starter Emilis Guerrero (2-0) tossed six shutout innings, scattering four hits and striking out eight. 

At the plate, Ryan Rijo went 5-for-5 with three RBI, Kyle DeGrace had three hits, three runs, an RBI and a stolen base, Starlin Rodriguez singled twice and scored, Kevin Atkinson drove in a run and scored, and Conner Morro had two hits and an RBI.

For Brantford, Matt McGovern and Anthony Rizquez had two hits apiece. 

Mike Mueller (0-1) took the loss, giving up six runs (five earned) on 13 hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out two.
