Baycats hand Royals first loss
GUELPH – And then there were none.
Guelph, the IBL’s only undefeated team entering June, suffered its first loss Tuesday night at home, falling 5-3 to Barrie.
Nolan Machibroda homered and drove in two for the Baycats (6-2). Adam Odd had two doubles and an RBI, and Noah Hull drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.
Cesar Rosado (3-0) fanned nine over six scoreless innings for the win. He scattered three hits and walked two.
For Guelph (4-1), J.D. Williams went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Marc Nellis drove in the Royals’ other run.
Evan Grills (0-1) took the loss. He was charged with four runs (three earned) on five hits over four innings. He walked two and struck out four.
