Baycats hammer Red Sox

BRANTFORD – The Barrie Baycats scored 12 runs in the first two innings Sunday afternoon in Brantford and didn’t look back in a 15-4 win over the Red Sox.

Owen Jansen went 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs, Jake Wilson also had three hits and drove in three, Ryan Rijo had a pair of RBI, Juan Familia had two hits and scored twice, Brendan Colley plated a pair of runs, Tyler Plumpton drove in two on a pair of hits and scored three times and Carson Burns and Noel McGarry-Doyle each had an RBI and scored twice.

Adam Khan went five scoreless innings for the win. He scattered four hits, walking three and striking out nine as Barrie moved to 15-9.

Sean Hood-Tidman took the loss, allowing 12 runs on seven hits before being lifted with one out in the second inning. He walked six and struck out two.

Liam Sutherland drove in a pair of runs for the Red Sox (1-20), which was coming off its first win after 19 straight defeats to start the season. Troy Banks went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs and Roger Keen had two hits.
