Baycats beat up on Leafs
TORONTO – Barrie raced out to a six-run lead through two innings and rolled to an 11-3 win Wednesday night at Christie Pits.
Adam Odd went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for Barrie (4-1). He also scored three times. Rick Phillips drilled a two-run blast and Hayden Jaco added a solo shot.
Canice Ejoh and Ryan Rijo each had a pair of hits and combined to score three times, while Noah Hull drove in two on a pair of hits. Malik Williams added an RBI.
Baycats’ starting pitcher Cesar Rosado (2-0) struck out seven over five innings for the win. He allowed three runs on three hits and five walks. Ryan Lacasse finished the game for his first save. He tossed four one-hit innings with a walk and two punchouts.
Sam Greene (0-1) took the loss for Toronto. He gave up six runs, though only three were earned, on seven hits over two frames. He walked two and struck out three.
Offensively, Jordan Castaldo hit a two-run home run and Johnathan Solazzo added a solo homer as Toronto (2-6) had only four hits.
