Barnstormers walk off Red Sox
CHATHAM – Spencer Marcus drove in Spencer Morin with one out in the bottom of the 10th to give Chatham-Kent a 2-1 win over Brantford on Saturday night at Fergie Jenkins Field.
Marcus and Mitsuki Fukada both had two hits as the Barnstormers improved to 2-1. Sadler Goodwin drove in the other run.
Garret Day (1-0) threw a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win on the mound. Mizuki Akatsuka started and went seven innings, giving up a run on seven hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
Lucas Bateman drove in the lone run for Brantford (1-3). Brody Black had two of Brantford’s nine hits.
Colby Clipper (0-1) allowed an unearned run on one hit in 1.1 innings to take the loss. He struck out one.
