Arias dominates in Majors’ win

BRANTFORD – Jose Arias tossed seven shutout innings to lead London to a 6-2 win Sunday in Brantford.  

The Majors’ righty (1-1) scattered six hits, walked three and struck out two. After Brantford scored twice in the ninth, Nate Bennett struck out the final batter of the game with the tying run on deck to earn the save. 

Offensively, Ken Sugi hit a two-run blast, and Toby Simmons followed with a solo home run for the Majors (8-4)Tucker Zdunich went 3-for-5 with an RBI, Eduardo De Oleo singled, doubled and drove in a run, and Adrian Harrison added an RBI.  

For Brantford (1-9), RenTachioka went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Kevin Delvecchio drove in the other run. Mat Torresan and Ethan Paulos each had a pair of hits.
