LONDON – The London Majors scored early and often in an 11-5 win over Hamilton on Wednesday at Labatt Park.

After Eduardo De Oleo’s RBI single gave the home side a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Majors exploded for seven runs in the second frame.

De Oleo finished with two hits and two RBI, as did Majors’ centre-fielder Andrew Lawrence and first baseman Kayne McGee. Byron Reichstein drove in two and Josh Williams went 3-for-4 and scored twice.

London starter Owen Boon (3-3) struck out 12 over six innings for the win. He allowed three runs on seven hits with a walk.

Jaryd Lund earned the three-inning save, giving up two runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Quin Cotton went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI to lead the Cards. Brandon Nicholson had two hits, including a home run, atop Hamilton’s lineup, while Tyler Duncan added a solo blast, his IBL-leading 14th.

Nik Cardinal (0-2) took the loss, giving up nine runs (three earned) on 11 hits over 4.1 innings. He walked four and fanned five.

London improved to 13-21 and trails sixth-place Hamilton (16-20) by two games.
