Cardinals Sign Infielder Troy Banks

HAMILTON – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of infielder Troy Banks for the 2023 season.

Banks, 23, a Orchard Park, New York native, joins the Cardinals after completing his playing career at NCAA D2 Mercyhurst University. Over three seasons, Banks appeared in 98 games, batting .288 with 20 homers, and 22 doubles while striking out a mere 75 times over nearly 400 plate appearances.

“I’m excited to get to Hamilton and be part of the rapidly changing culture,” Banks said. “I can’t wait to get after it with all my new teammates and staff. Big things ahead for everybody involved.”

Banks spent parts of last summer with the Brantford Red Sox, batting .333 in 60 AB’s before moving on to play for the Trenton Thunder of the MLB Draft League.

“It’s easy to fall in love with baseball all over again when Banks is on your team,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “He’s fun to watch. I love the way he plays, and the way he is – he carries a very controlled, confident and contagious volatility on the field with him.”
