Cardinals Re-Sign Josh Niles

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals announced today the re-signing of first baseman Josh Niles for the upcoming 2023 season, his third season with the club.

A native of St. Thomas, Ontario, Niles emerged as a cornerstone for the Hamilton Cardinals last season, appearing in 36 games before heading back to Canisius University in Buffalo, New York. This past season, Niles appeared in 27 games for the Griffs as they went on to win the MAAC Championship.

“Niles is another young player who fits in perfectly with what we’re trying to accomplish long-term while giving us the benefit of a junior-aged player who can start for us right now,” said Cardinals General Manager George Halim. “He’s young, carries some swagger with him, already has a proven record of hitting in the IBL, and knows how to win. He’s a no-brainer to me.”
